Can I install solar panels myself?

Short answer: yes, you can assemble the structure and the panels yourself, but in Spain the electrical connection and the legalisation of a self-consumption system must be carried out and signed off by an authorised installer. Without that certificate your installation is not legal.

What can you do yourself?

Handy DIYers can take on much of the work: mounting the support structure on the roof, placing the panels and running the cable trays. Our shop stocks all the components you need — panels, mounting hardware, solar cable and connectors.

What must an authorised installer do?

In Spain, connecting to the consumer unit, installing the inverter and protections, and the final inspection must be done by a certified installer, who issues the electrical certificate (CIE) — the document confirming the installation is safe and complies with the REBT.

Why legalisation is mandatory

Without legalisation you cannot export power to the grid, you cannot claim surplus compensation, and you risk fines. Your insurance usually will not cover damage from a non-legalised installation either.

The smart approach

Many customers buy the material from Innovadoras and outsource only the electrical work and legalisation. That saves on labour while giving you the certainty of a legal, safe, warrantied installation. Want to know what it would cost in your case? Request free, no-obligation advice.
